The Health Report
June 2004
Dr. Marc Spitz can help those suffering from numb and burning feet
The condition is called peripheral neuropathy and is due to damage to the nerves. Peripheral neuropathy can be caused by diabetes, chemotherapy or alcoholism. Suprisingly, in over 50% of the patients suffering from this condition, there is no known cause. Heredity and viral infections are suspected in some cases.
Until recently, the medical field has offered only limited treatment for the disease. Dr. Spitz, a Seal Beach podiatrist for the past 30 years, has devoted his practice to the treatment of peripheral neuropathy. "There is no one magic bullet that is effective in relieving the pain and discomfort," Dr. Spitz states. He also says, "It often takes a combination of treatments to help patients suffering from peripheral neuropathy."
Dr. Spitz uses Anodyne, the amazing new treatment for peripheral neuropathy. Anodyne works by emitting infrared light that in turn helps increase circulation to the nerves. In addition, he uses formulated topical gels, electrical stimulation, massage therapy, acupunture, balance training, nutrition and oral medications to help ease the symtoms of peripheral neuropathy. As one of his patients says, "Since my Anodyne treatment, I can sleep, walk, run and go to the gym. I haven't felt so free in over fourteen years. Dr. Spitz, you did it! I am so grateful." (This actual testimonial is available upon request.)
Dr. Spitz is also the medical director of "Project Shoes For The Homeless" and has distributed over 17,000 pairs of shoes in the past twenty years. His office is located at 1920 St. Andrews Drive, Seal Beach, California.
