New Developments

October 2004

Infrared Light Therapy

I want to share new and exciting developments for the treatment of peripheral neuropathy.  Infrared light therapy is still one of the most important treatments.  A new home unit is now available.  The advantage of a home unit is that infrared therapy is most effective when used on a daily basis. Also on days when the pain, numbness, burning or tingling is the worst, it can be used more frequently to help relieve symptoms.  This machine is easy to use and is affordable.

Healthibetic Foot Cream

I recently started using a new cream that is made in Canada called Healthibetic Foot Cream.  This cream contains L-Arginine which can greatly increase circulation to the feet and nerves.  The feedback from my patients using the cream has been great!  Balance and walking difficulty are very common problems for my peripheral neuropathy patients.  I am now associated with a sandal maker in Canada.  He makes a sandal with a special foot bed which helps stabilize the foot.  They are very nice looking and priced reasonably for a custom made product.

The Peripheral Neuropathy Handbook

I have found that there are many questions regarding peripheral neuropathy, so I wrote a small book explaining the condition.  It can be used as a reference guide for you and your family.  I will be happy to give one to you—at no charge.  Please call our office to set up an appointment so I can further explain these new treatment options.  At that time you can arrange to get your free copy of my pamphlet, called The Peripheral Neuropathy Handbook.
