A New Nutritional Supplement That Helps Support Healthy Nerve Function

Research has shown that certain vitamins and nutritional supplements can be effective in supporting healthy nerve function.  These nutritional supplements can play an important adjunctive role in treating peripheral neuropathy.

Evening Primrose Oil is an excellent source of essential fatty acids including a high level of GLA.  Some research has shown that Evening Primrose Oil may be effective in slowing down the process of nerve damage seen in diabetics.

Vitamin B Complex contains a myriad of essential B vitamins, including: B1 (thiamine mononitrate), B2 (riboflavin), Niacin (niacinamide), Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin), Biotin, and Pantothenic Acid.  The Vitamin B Complex is important for supporting healthy nerve function.  It is well documented in the medical literature, for instance, that a deficiency of Vitamin B12 can cause peripheral neuropathy.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is an approved drug in Germany for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy.  Alpha Lipoic Acid's primary effect in improving diabetic neuropathy is a result of its antioxidant effects.  Studies have shown that Alpha Lipoic Acid also improves blood sugar metabolism, reduces glycolsylation of proteins, and enchances blood flow to peripheral nerves.

Patients with diabetes may have reduced serum Carnitine concentrations.  Research has shown that Acetyl-L-Carnitine may improve peripheral vascular function and nerve function in patients with diabetes.

A new nutritional supplement called Nerve Health+ Essential Nutrients is now available which combines these essential vitamins and nutrients to help support healthy nerve function.
