Directions for Use

The Thermotex unit can be applied in two primary ways for pain, burning, numbness and tingling in the feet and legs. If you experience pain on the bottoms of the feet, you can simply place the pad flat on the ground and put both feet directly on top of the pad. Another option is to use the enclosed velcro straps to "make a boot" and wrap it around the foot and ankle. This method will establish better contact between the skin and the unit for greater effectiveness. If you use it this way, you will have to treat each lower extremity separately. If you are experiencing relief using this method, you might consider getting a second unit to reduce treatment time.

Settings and Treatment Times

The control switch will show three settings: "Off," "Low," and "High." The unit should be set on "Low." Recommended treatment time is 20 - 45 minutes per area. The Thermotex unit should not be used for more than one hour at a time in one area. You may use the unit as often as like. You should allow at least 2 hours before applying the unit to the same area.

Precautions for Diabetics and people with Peripheral Neuropathy

Always use the "Low" setting on the feet and legs. Limit the first treatment to 15 minutes on the "Low" setting and check for redness. If redness appears, discontinue use. Patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy should not use the unit for more than 20 to 30 minutes at a time on the feet and legs. Do not use the unit more than 3 times a day in any given area.
